IL VINO D'ARTISTA DI MAURIZIO PIO ROCCHI

Organic wine, ArtWine
the story

1991 was the decisive year in which "The Wine from the Hands of an Artist” was born. It is a true story, a living history carried forward over time.
In the beginning the wine was pressed by hand, today it is softly pressed with a pneumatic press in a modern cellar.
Maurizio [Pio] Rocchi, artist and farmer, born in Rome and a true Roman, started to produce his “Vino d’Artista” using land attached to the original family home. The artist puts his artworks on the labels, signing them one by one, giving birth to an itinerant and unique collection every year.
In this same year, Maurizio [Pio] immediately made the necessary adjustments in order to convert the land and farm organicically, motivated by his belief in the value of the natural world.
A new vine-yard was planted with the same grapes chosen 30 years earlier by his parents. A great many variables influence the land and the conditions for growing the grapes, but ambition and vision overcome fatigue in every aspect of the procuction, so that pure, quality wine can be created.
...
The special moments brought by the wine to our house give us the strength to go on producing new collections.

The “Square of the Sun”.
Every morning we serve an italian breakfast in 'the great Hall' of the Archipelago an air-conditioned hall in which you will be fresh in summer and warm in winter.

Summer Pool.
We open the pool in the middle of May for a refreshing swim during the hot days. Deck chairs, sun loungers, and umbrellas are available. The pool is open at night if you want to float under the stars.

Free WiFi.
We offer a free wi-fi service available in the rooms and surrounding areas on the property.
For working business we can offer a paid service.

Wine Tourism.
One of our “islands” is represented by our organic wine.
Maurizio [Pio] and Enrico Ario Rocchi produce 'Rosso del Lupo', 'Mercurio' and 'Petra rdg'.

Petra e Maurizio [Pio]. Two artists, photographer and painter, live-performer start in 2003 to work on the project of Art & Agriculture. In 2008 we open the agritourism “Archipelago of Art & Agriculture”. In 2016 our son Enrico Ario joins in and we start to work together on the vision for the land and a quality improvement. In 2019 Enrico Ario becomes the owner of the Archipelago. New energy comes into The Project and together with Eloise Dies and the mother of Enrico's son Francesca new ideas come to the light.

The word “Archipelago” brings together the many activities that take place around our creative enterprise, affirming the birth of new 'islands', new ideas for the wines, our honey and our organic olive oil, 'extra extra vergine'.
