Once arrived in the Archipelago you can think of tasting the “Wine of the Artist”.
We produce three organic wines: Rosso del Lupo (red), Mercurio (white), Petra rag (rosé). You can taste all the wines or choose one or two. It is possible to book for 2 or more persons both in the room and in the hall “The Square of the Sun” (Il Quadrato del Sole).

The wine is our ambassador

Support our project by visiting the B&B, booking a wine tasting, buying the wines or our artwork so that can continue to combine Art and Agriculture.

The Wine of the Artist is entirely produced in the Archipelago of Art and Agriculture in Tuscania, the vine-yard is small and the organic wine is a niche production. We best accompany the vines to obtain a lively, pure wine.

Maurizio [Pio] Rocchi is an artist who transferred his self-taught creativity also in winemaking.

He was able to find his method in transforming grapes into wine, season after season, one experiment after another. For example in lowering the fermentation control temperature to enhance the aromas or with grassing the vineyard or let spontaneous plants grow in the middle of the rows of vines from the beginning.

Since the beginning (1991) the most significant artworks of the year of the harvest are reproduced on the bottles of The Wine of the Artist, different labels each time, to form a collection that evolves continuously.

The Wine of the Artist has been purchased in California, Germany, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Denmark.

In 2016, for the first time, Enrico Ario, first son of Maurizio (Pio) and Petra, takes part in the project. A sensitive and heartfelt help. The pruning, the harvest and the winemaking are done together. A presence that, for our joy, has been confirmed to this day. Our characters, obviously and fortunately different, are shaping themselves to find a new understanding with the intention of continuing to produce a modern and quality wine.

It is often said that wines represent the personality of those who produce them. This statement certainly holds true for Maurizio [Pio] Rocchi. Tasting his wines one perceives his own determination and precise line of conduct. They are strong, severe wines with a very specific identity, recognizable among a thousand. They are wines out of the ordinary, they may like or not but they are inimitable and irreproducible elsewhere.

Maurizio [Pio] doesn’t know half measures, mediation or compromise. He is a crystalline person and, like his wines, direct and clean. He has always practiced, and with conviction, a natural, organic clean farming, not with the idea that this kind of farming will save the planet: only he doesn’t want to be on the 'wrong' side.

In 1991 Maurizio [Pio] is committed to finding a way to see his tangible

creed, looking for an affirmation that concretizes his way of seeing agriculture.

Organic farming.

He obtains certification as the first organic farmer in Viterbo province.

(Nowadays more than a thousand farmers).

Since than his wines are true organic wines.

or, during summer, at the poolside in the Archipelago of Art and Agriculture. Accompanied by Maurizio (Pio) and Enrico Ario Rocchi who will introduce you to the award-winning organic Artist’s Wine production
process.

You will get to know our three wines Rosso del Lupo (red),
Mercurio (white), Petra rag (rosé) in their habit of origin and this
will make your experience unique.

It is possible to organize a performance of “Music-Dance-Painting” at your ceremony, wedding, event.

Starting with a large blank canvas, music and dance (Vanessa Valle) with an improvised choreography, a work of art is born before the eyes of the public. A spectacle that leaves an emotional all spectators.
